Babies can start with different textures.
Sometimes called baby-led weaning, this approach encourages starting your baby with whole foods. Introducing new textures in combination with your baby’s development allows for adequate muscle and coordination development later in life. Raising healthy eaters is as much about sensory development as it is about palate development. Incorporating textures like quinoa make for a messy mealtime, but a much more impactful one.
So the short answer, no. It all depends on your baby’s readiness, and your preferred style of feeding.
