Answers to the most commonly asked questions around our food safety.

How safe are Raised Real meals for my tiny human?

Very safe. First, according to the CDC and their international counterparts, there is no evidence to support the transmission of COVID-19 associated with food. Furthermore, when you do feed your tiny human Raised Real, our preparation instructions are designed to get the internal temperature of the food above 165 degrees—most viruses cannot survive in temperatures above 150 degrees Fahrenheit. So, wash your hands, then serve your tiny human with confidence.

Does Raised Real take any additional safety precautions?

That’s a big YES. We always take extreme precautions in terms of food safety—we are SQF-certified (something we are extremely proud of). We have a full disinfection protocol before and after food is prepared. All team members preparing food participate in a full disinfecting process before entering a room. They wear protective outerwear which includes a smock, mask, hairnet, and gloves. Employees do not report to work if they are sick. So again, a big all caps YES.

Should I take any precautions when receiving my box?

According to the World Health Organization it is safe to receive packages during the Coronavirus crisis: “The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, traveled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.” It’s always a good idea to wash your hands with soap and water after unpacking any box, and before preparing any meals.
